The KL Butoh Festival, formerly known as Nyoba Kan Butoh Festival, wants to be identified and connected to the city where it is held. It pulls together practitioners of different backgrounds from theatre, dance, music, design, installation art, to video art in an attempt to transform its potential and to accelerate its capacity to create meaning, experience and idea in its art form.

At its 10th instalment, for the first time, the festival is presenting a double-bill exhibition of photograph and painting. The participants crossed borders and collaborated in different roles to create the art pieces. Performing and presenting during an exhibition is a whole new experience, within the space, installation and performance.
